- £18.00 per hour for weekday shifts
- £20.00 per hour for weekend shifts
- £17.00 for weekday nights

- At least 3 years’ experience of working in health and social care
- Experience of leading and managing other people in a similar role
- Experience of writing or contributing to care plans and risk assessments
- Knowledge of safe medication management
- Full UK driving licence (max 3 points)
- Comfortable supporting community access, including hydrotherapy sessions
- Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
About the Role
We require an experienced individual to join an established care team as a Care Team Manager (Team Leader). The primary role is to manage a team of support workers, ensuring the highest quality of care is provided. This is supported by maintaining accurate records, keeping care plans under review and up to date, working with other professionals involved and being the key point of contact between the team and the case manager and always advocating for the client to act in her best interests.
About ‘Doris’
‘Doris’ is 38 years old; she sustained a significant brain injury as the result of a collision with a motor vehicle when she was younger. As a result of her injuries, she uses a wheelchair full-time and requires help with all aspects of her day to day life.
‘Doris’ enjoys spending time at home, as well as going out, she’s a keen shopper and currently her focus is on her new hobby of growing Venus fly trap plants.
Working Hours
- Average of 35 per week, to be worked as 4 days per week plus 5 hours of administration hours
- Flexibility required to provide cover when required, sometimes with short notice
- Shifts cover 07.45 – 15.30 and 15.15 – 22.00 and an overnight shift (covered by night staff)
Key Responsibilities
Hours are divided between working with the client 1:1 and administration time.
- Work in line with the support worker job description when working on shift with ‘Doris’.
- To be responsible for maintaining the team rota, ensuring that annual leave and sickness is managed and ‘Doris’ has cover for all her care needs (including liaison with the agency).
- Manage emergencies. This may require occasional availability outside of normal working hours.
- To participate in the teams’ on-call rota (nights).
- Be responsible for checking staff timesheets monthly and ensuring staff are meeting their contractual obligations, including following the correct absence management procedures.
- Be responsible for maintaining daily health and safety in the client’s home, including overseeing the completion of associated audits, co-ordinating regular equipment servicing and maintenance and reporting any issues immediately.
- Oversee the safe management of the client’s medication.
- Maintain accurate care plans supporting the staff to work in a safe and person-centred way.
- Act as a role model for the other staff.
- Meet with the staff regularly, to provide supervisions.
- Assist with the planning of team meetings.
- To be the main point of contact for the Case Manager or Registered Manager.
- Act as an advocate for ‘Doris’ making sure that her views and opinions are heard and decisions are being made in her best interests.
- Work professionally with the therapists and Deputy involved in her team.
- To keep accurate records, including using the electronic care plan, and supporting other staff with this; IT skills are essential
