We are looking for two new Support Workers to join a new team supporting J in his own home.
Due to his moving and handling needs, care is provided on a 2:1 basis covering the following shifts:
Term Time
Monday: 6:30am until 10:30am (4 hours) and 15:30 until 19:30 (4 hours);
Tuesday: 6:30am until 10:30am (4 hours) and 15:30 until 19:30 (4 hours);
Thursday: 6:30am until 10:30am (4 hours);
Friday: 6:30am until 10:30am (4 hours) and 15:30 until 19:30 (4 hours)
** Split shifts will not be necessary at all times. A combination of early and late shifts will be available.
School Holidays
Up to 5-days per week to be covered by team – 10 hours per day. (variable hours to be agreed in advance)

About the Role
J is a 12 year old young person with a zest for life. We are currently seeking a team of fun and enthusiastic support worker to assist him before and after school and during the school holidays.
About J
J has cerebral palsy and dystonia, he is dependent on a gastrostomy tube to meet his nutrition and hydration needs and is a full-time wheelchair user, meaning that he is hoisted for all transfers. He requires 24-hour postural management and is doubly incontinent.
J communicates by eye pointing, and use of eye gaze. He can be hypersensitive to noise and will spasm and jump. Ji s highly observant and understands spoken language well. He enjoys “people watching.
J also enjoys being out in his garden, watching sport on the TV, arts and crafts, baking and being read to. He enjoys sensory activities such a kinetic sand, bubbles, and relaxing with lights on in the evening.
