Job Summary
JS is a young man who sustained a brain injury as a child. JS is very active and loves to spend time outdoors. He also attends a local gym. JS is pleasant, sociable and enjoys company. He has a small dog and likes to take her for walks.
JS has completed an NVQ level 2 in Agriculture and he now enjoys supported voluntary work on an arable and livestock farm on a weekly basis, as well as volunteering in other work replacement activities in the community. JS has an interest in engines and owns his own engine as well as his own tractors, which he drives on the farm. JS also enjoys driving other vehicles on private land when he is able to.
Regular work replacement tasks include: Working with and taking care of livestock and birds. Driving and operating tractors (training can be provided if needed), general maintenance and tasks required on the farm. Working with tools, chemicals and animal food and waste.
This role specifically involves supporting JS when doing his work replacement activities on the farm. You will be working alongside him, helping him with practical tasks and prompting him about health and safety or practical matters as required. This post will suit someone who is practically minded and passionate about supporting independence with others!
Hours available:
Tuesdays 8:15 – 4:30, Thursdays 8:15 – 3:30, Fridays 8:15 – 3:00
(approx. 18 hours per week) start and finish times can be flexible for the right candidate.
